Continuous improvement and process streamlining has been a constant theme throughout Kerry’s professional career. Kerry began working for City of Chula Vista in 2004 and has been involved in local government for over 25 years, serving in a variety of capacities, including volunteer, commissioner, and full-time employee. Before beginning at the City of Chula Vista, she was a software/process improvement analyst for a large insurance company for more than six years. Kerry holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and a master’s degree in Public Administration, with additional graduate coursework in Nonprofit Leadership. She has been designated a Master Municipal Clerk by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC).



This workshop offers a comprehensive instruction in Boards and Commissions that will allow the learner to understand the critical functions, the various types of Boards and Commissions, the application and onboarding process for members, records management and how to train Commissioners; all with an emphasizes on best practices and legal requirements.
